RFID tags are transforming supply chaing industry, and not only that. It is transforming our lives.
Pretty soon you will find small electronic tags everywhere - in airports, department stores, even in your clothes.
What is RFID?
RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is a technology that is going to replace conventional bar codes.
It will consist of several components:
- An antenna or coil
- A transceiver (with decoder)
- A transponder (RF tag) electronically programmed with unique information
You will most likely encounter RFID tags (antenna and a transporter together) as a small plastic card on clothes or other merchandise in a department store.
